What Good Is Technological Progress Without Moral Progress?

What Good Is Technological Progress Without Moral Progress? What good is technological progress if it does not go concomitantly with moral development? While technology aims delivering products and services that are safer, faster, cheaper, easier and better, the equivalent should be the happiness of the majority if not the world population. The gap between rich and poor continue to increase with more middle-class falling into the lower class. Terrorism and war continue to scare the world population who could think Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) was right in proclaiming the twentieth century as bloodiest of all since God is dead, and scientific and technological advances had made belief in God untenable. Such division between the have and have-not could subtly inject Nietzsche's philosophy stating that since free from an absolute God who encompasses absolute moral values, human being could fabricate their morality around the concept of slave morality and master morality: N...

God and Gays

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sarah-kate-ellis/god-v-gays-is-a-false-narrative_b_7769362.html It is difficult to address the subject of gay marriage nowadays without being called either bigot or stereotyping person depending on your argument orientation. Many religious communities feel like they have been assaulted and insulted by the Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage in the United States because most find the ruling goes against their moral values and religious belief. Since religious institutions are tax-exempt, they fear some of their decisions or actions toward gays who choose to attend their church may be subject to legal challenges in court. For example, a church practicing “open-door” refuses to allow a gay charitable event in the church premises could face some accusation of discrimination that may lead to cancelation of tax-exempt status. The laws established by men are always subject to different interpretations often based upon self-motivated and politi...

Woman who took down a confederate flag

Woman who took down a confederate flag http://www.wltx.com/story/news/2015/06/27/woman-removes-flag-from-state-house/29384039/ A woman from Raleigh, NC decided to take down the confederate flag, and she got arrested. She claimed it was hurtful to see the flag above the State Capitol while the victims of the gun shot from a young man inspired by the confederate flag symbol claimed he wanted to start a racial war. The judge ordered   3000 dollars bond, and she got released after she paid the money.  While the flag is only a symbol, it is people’s intention and interpretation of its meanings that reveal the moral character of such community. It is a good thing today the legislature and the government official have requested to remove the confederate flag. By doing so, they have confirmed raising the confederate flag was morally wrong because of the intention or the true meaning of its symbolism. While the debate is close to an end, the question I could ask i...

http://live.worldbank.org/world-bank-african-diaspora-trade-and-education-forum The potential wealth and talent existing in the African Diaspora is enormous. Some researchers estimate that US $53 billion is saved on an annual basis by the African Diaspora.  Additionally, it is estimated that by 2040 Africa will have a larger workforce than China or India.  All of this will require targeted new enterprise growth in areas that can enhance food supply, healthcare services, and educational solutions, particular in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) within local communities.

The tweet claimed to explain why Bush likes "Mexican illegals"

http://time.com/3946544/donald-trump-mexican-jeb-bush-twitter/ From the Confederation flag protection to racially charged- attitude, the conservatives have been blamed more than liberals. On the conservative side, there is a silent majority who does express their positive attitude by condemning racism or any form of bigotry. Donald Trump has given an opportunity to Conservatives to take a stand against his comments we characterize as bigotry. Donald Trump latest comment accuses Jeb Bush, a 2016  presidential candidate, for supporting Mexican illegal immigrant because of his wife is a Hispanic. This argument assumes Jeb Bush is incapable of developing an objective judgment, and that his position on the issue of immigration is mostly influenced by the fabric of his multi-cultural marriage. Trump’s loaded-comments are calling illegal Mexican immigrants criminals and rapists exemplify racial a discrimination attitude. This kind of attitude demonstrates the lack of respect to a pe...
